CBS News Texas and The Dallas Morning News Feature Coverage of Rogge Dunn Group’s $5.7M Sexual Harassment Verdict

Rogge Dunn Group was featured by CBS News Texas and The Dallas Morning News after the firm secured a $5.7 million judgment on behalf of a former employee in a workplace sexual harassment and retaliation case against Home Marketing Services owner Robert “Bob” Lovell. A Dallas County court found Lovell personally liable under a 2021 Texas law expanding accountability for supervisors and business owners.

The court found Lovell used code words to coerce sexual acts, tied employment benefits, including health insurance for the employee’s daughter, to compliance with his demands, and retaliated when she refused. Judge Sally Montgomery determined the conduct was willful and malicious, and that testimony from other employees corroborated the plaintiff’s account. The judgment is reported to be the third-largest sexual harassment award in Texas for a single plaintiff, and underscores the expanded legal exposure for owners and supervisors under Texas workplace law.

Firm founder Rogge Dunn, who represented the employee, told The Dallas Morning News, “This judgment sends a message: Executives and employees who sexually harass employees and then retaliate when those employees stand up for themselves will face significant consequences.”

In a statement to CBS News Texas, Dunn added, “Texas law now holds employees personally accountable when they sexually harass a fellow employee.” The decision underscores the expanded legal exposure for owners and supervisors under Texas workplace law.
