Bissinger, Oshman, Williams & Strasburger partner Jason Williams was featured in The Dallas Morning News in an investigative report that highlights a nine-year legal dispute over thousands of tons of unauthorized fill dirt on a South Dallas floodplain, rendering 8.1 acres of land unusable. The protracted conflict, involving the City of Dallas, a court-appointed receiver, and conflicting property owners, has created a legal deadlock with remediation costs likely exceeding the land’s value.  

In the article, Mr. Williams said, “receivers are tasked with bringing the properties back into compliance and they ‘take over’ the entire asset. For commercial properties that means receiverships are entitled to the income generated from business operations.”
