Lynn Pinker Hurst & Schwegmann partner Mary Nix spoke with NPR’s North Texas station KERA about her case against Grand Prairie ISD on behalf of the district’s suspended superintendent, Dr. Jorge Arredondo. Dr. Arredondo sued the district after he was suspended just a couple of months into the job.
The district asked that the case be moved to federal court, but Ms. Nix says the district hasn’t filed any federal claims.
“I think that they were trying to avoid the TRO, which is void once they filed their notice of removal, and tried to avoid the injunction hearing” that had been scheduled, Ms. Nix told KERA.
