A Law Firm Marketer’s Guide to the Holidays

Looking to send some cheer to clients and friends during the holiday season?
Here are eight ideas to help you stay connected.

1. Know Your Audience

Whether it’s Christmas or Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Mawlid – or even Seinfeld’s Festivus – give thought to what will matter most.

2. Avoid the Crowds

Cut through the clutter and consider sending a New Year’s greeting to celebrate the season.

3. Send an Email

Save on printing and postage by sending an e-card. Whether they are static or animated, it’s hard not to click on these. Digital communications are even more important with many people still working remotely.

4. Give Back

Honor your clients and friends of the firm with a donation to a worthy cause. With so many individuals and organizations in need, this could really make a difference.

5. Go Old School

A printed card will get you noticed and can be worth the time and expense to make a memorable impression.

6. Give a Gift

Send a gift that is functional, relevant and says something about your firm. Maybe earbuds to illustrate that you listen or portable chargers that communicate your energy and accessibility. You might even consider a digital gift card to brighten someone’s day.

7. It's About Sentiment, Not Selling

Everyone likes to be appreciated, so make your message one of thanks and save the marketing for another time of year. This can be a great opportunity to show appreciation for people who stuck by your side over the years.

8. Start the New Year Right

Take the opportunity to say thanks for the past year and offer your best wishes for a great new year by sending your message in early January.
