Barry Pound
Barry has more than 40 years of experience in strategic public relations, with lengthy tenures at both small and large agencies, as well as in corporate communications. This diverse background gives him a distinct ability to effectively communicate and manage the needs, expectations, and pressure points for both clients and the news media. “I’m often called on to help a client who’s facing a crisis situation that’s getting or could possibly get some attention from the media,” he says. “My job is to anticipate questions, develop consistent messaging, and roll out communications in a way that’s practical and effective.”
Barry received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University, earned a marketing certification from SMU’s Cox School of Business, and has lectured on legal marketing at SMU’s Dedman School of Law. He’s also held leadership roles with a number of civic and professional organizations, and his knowledge of the business, legal and media communities often supports his work.
“I like taking complex subjects and turning them into compelling stories.”
During his almost 15 years with Androvett Media & Marketing, Barry has guided clients and companies in a number of high-profile matters involving contentious litigation, regulatory hearings, as well as state and federal investigations. He’s successfully engaged with local and national media at trials and for other work across the nation.
Regardless of the circumstances, Barry is particularly proud of the trust and confidence he’s earned from his clients, and from the reporters who rely on his responsiveness and professionalism.
