Dallas-based attorney Rogge Dunn was featured in The New York Times – The Athletic about Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby. The projected starter for the Red Raiders has been granted a temporary injunction by a Texas district judge allowing him to play in the 2026 season despite NCAA gambling violations. Sorsby faces a two-game suspension and required counseling after admitting to over 9,000 wagers, including bets on his previous teams and others. The NCAA immediately appealed the ruling. 

The story quoted Mr. Dunn saying, “the appeals process usually takes six months to a year,” Dunn, who represented then-Texas Tech president Guy Bailey in coach Mike Leach’s termination lawsuit, said the chief judge could decide to fast-track the case given the public interest in the outcome.
