NTSB Investigates Two Home Explosions in San Antonio as Lyons & Simmons Partner Michael Lyons Warns of Evidence Preservation

Michael Lyons was featured in several San Antonio media outlets including KSATKENS-TV, and News 4 San Antonio, following the explosions of two homes. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has taken the lead in a federal investigation to determine the cause of the blasts, that left five people injured.  Mr. Lyons, who has previously won significant verdicts against CPS Energy for gas explosions, is raising concerns regarding the preservation of evidence. He emphasizes that the homes should not be demolished until the investigation is fully complete to ensure accountability for the city and its taxpayers. Lyons highlights that aging gas infrastructure remains a dangerous and recurring issue across the state.

“The first immediate concern I have is for the victims,” Lyons said. “These are really serious injury cases. People that are exposed to a diffuse vapor explosion like this, which invariably is what happens in natural gas explosions, often have catastrophic life-altering injuries.” Knowing the long recovery road ahead, Lyons added “Hopefully all of these people survive, so we think about and pray for these families.”
