Former acting Dallas District Attorney Messina Madson offered key legal insight as dramatic testimony unfolded in the criminal trial of former Uvalde school police officer Adrian Gonzales.
Speaking with ABC News, Madson, now a criminal defense attorney at MC Criminal Law, explained that prosecutors appear to be using early witnesses to underscore the magnitude of the tragedy before focusing more narrowly on Gonzales’ individual conduct.
“It’s saying that somebody in those circumstances would have understood the risk and would have intervened and … you behaved in a way that was not how a reasonable person would in that situation,” Madson said.
