Aldous Walker’s nearly $72 million verdict is listed among Law360’s Biggest Texas Trial Rulings of 2024: Midyear Report, which highlights the high-dollar verdicts and most significant trial decisions from the first half of the year.   

The firm’s verdict was against Irving-based Walker Engineering, and involved a father of four who fell to his death while renovating a Frito-Lay facility. The story details the challenges of the lawsuit, including how Aldous\Walker’s attorneys had to prove that Walker Engineering was using an affiliated company, Walker Industrial, to shield itself from liability. 

“We argued it was just a smoke screen to avoid liability, that they set these companies up to do just this very thing — to have people employed under Walker Industrial so Walker Engineering couldn’t get hit for any liability,” Charla Aldous told Law360.
