LA Times Features Shackelford, McKinley & Norton Surrogacy Case

The LA Times has featured Shackelford, McKinley & Norton attorneys Lori Hood and Marianne Robak, who filed a case against Houston-based Surrogacy Escrow Account Management (SEAM).

The case involves couples from around the country who deposited thousands of dollars to pay for their surrogates’ medical expenses and fees into a SEAM-managed escrow account. SEAM was responsible for holding the funds, reviewing the surrogates’ expenses and disbursing the money in accordance with the terms of the surrogacy agreement.

“Did her company make millions of dollars, or is she putting into the tax returns that the escrow money was her revenue?” Hood asked.
