Founding partner Warren Burns at Burns Charest was recently featured in a Reuters article about bringing to trial a legal malpractice claim against Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in a Florida court. Simpson Thacher is accused by former Patriot National CEO Steven Mariano of failing to include stock sale restrictions in funding documents that resulted in the company’s bankruptcy.  

In the article, Mr. Burns who is representing Mr. Mariano, says the company’s stock price dropped, creating “a death spiral Patriot National was never able to overcome.” Patriot National filed for bankruptcy in early 2018.
