Austin American-Statesman Interviews Johnston Tobey Baruch Shareholder on SCOTX Ruling

Trial and appellate law firm Johnston Tobey Baruch’s managing shareholder Chad Baruch spoke with the Austin American-Statesman about the Texas Supreme Court ruling against Dallas County in an article titled, “Was the creation of 15th Court of Appeals constitutional? Texas Supreme Court weighs in.”

The article details the court’s decision to side with the state’s Legislature in the dispute over the constitutionality of the new Texas 15th Court of Appeals, which is set to begin hearing arguments in September 2024.

Mr. Baruch says the decision was consistent with past interpretations.

“The constitutional history in Texas has been toward greater legislative discretion as opposed to less legislative discretion,” Mr. Baruch told the Austin American-Statesman.
