A Dallas orthopedic spine surgeon was ordered to pay $2.4 million to a Texas surgical implant company after being found liable for unjust enrichment, money had and received, and conversion, after misrepresenting himself as owner of the company.
“The defendant had no right to the funds that were taken from my client’s account, and we proved that at trial,” Alex Campbell of Campbell Law PLLC told Texas Lawyer. “Once they had this unfettered access, there were no controls preventing them from withdrawing millions of dollars.”
